Ancient Roman pendants and amulets at Aurora Antiqua are original pieces of Roman jewelry in gold and bronze. Each one is a single object, shown in its own photographs.

Roman pendants and amulets in gold and bronze

The title of each listing names the form, pendant or amulet, and the metal, gold or bronze. To see what an individual piece shows, look at its photographs and description, or ask us. For Roman rings, see ancient Roman rings and intaglio rings. For later pendants, see medieval pendants. Our guide to Roman jewelry covers the wider subject.

What each listing tells you

Each listing states a date range rather than a single year. Every listing has a provenance line that gives the piece's history as far as it is recorded. A certificate of authenticity is included in the box with every piece, and each is covered by our lifetime authenticity guarantee. Shipping from Belgium is free and insured within the EU; see shipping and insurance for other destinations. Pieces that have sold stay visible with a Sold marker.

Frequently asked questions

Are these original Roman pendants or replicas?

They are originals; Aurora does not sell replicas. Jakob, who runs Aurora, examines each piece himself before it is listed, and our provenance and authenticity page explains what he looks at.

What is the difference between a pendant and an amulet?

A pendant is any piece made to hang from a cord or chain; an amulet, sometimes called a charm, is a piece worn in the belief that it protects the wearer or brings good fortune. The title of each listing says which word applies to the piece.

Can I still buy a piece marked Sold?

No. Each piece is a single object, so a sold piece is no longer available. Pieces that have sold stay visible with a Sold marker, because the catalogue is also a record of what Aurora has listed.
