Description

Professional Antique Ring Restoration

This service is a careful, hands-on restoration of an authentic antique ring, carried out with respect for its age, history, and original craftsmanship.

The goal is not to modernize or over-polish, but to return the ring as closely as possible to how it would have appeared when it was originally worn, while preserving the character that only centuries of time can create.

What this restoration includes

Surface restoration
The patina is carefully reduced or removed to reveal the original metal surface and craftsmanship beneath. Traces of age are intentionally preserved where appropriate, so the ring does not lose its historical presence or authenticity.

Structural corrections
Bent shanks, minor distortions, cracks, or weaknesses are professionally corrected where possible. All repairs are done conservatively, prioritizing stability and longevity without erasing original tool marks or design intent.

Interior left untouched
The inside of the ring is intentionally left unrestored. Interior wear, patina, and tool marks are preserved as part of the ring’s original history and use, maintaining its authenticity and archaeological character.

Historical integrity first
Every decision is guided by the ring’s period, material, and construction. No aggressive reshaping, unnecessary smoothing, or modern reinterpretation is applied.

Wearability for today
The ring is restored to be comfortable and secure for modern wear, without compromising its antique nature.

Custom wishes welcome

If you have specific preferences, such as keeping certain areas darker, limiting polishing, or focusing only on structural stability, you can include your wishes with your order. Each restoration is discussed and approached individually.

Important note

Because every antique ring is unique, results will always reflect the condition, age, and material of the original piece. The aim is authenticity, not perfection.

This is a professional conservation-style restoration intended for genuine historical rings, not cosmetic refinishing.

Wear the past, carefully restored.

Care

To maintain the beauty and integrity of your purchase, we recommend treating it with care. Simple maintenance practices, such as gentle washing and proper storage, can effectively preserve the longevity of your favorites. We encourage you to refer to the care instructions included with each item, designed to help you keep your purchase in top condition.

Authenticity

Each artifact we offer has been carefully examined by qualified professionals to ensure its authenticity. Our assessment considers historical style, craftsmanship, materials, and the wider typology of comparable pieces.

Because historical scholarship evolves, we offer a lifelong authenticity guarantee: if two independent, accredited laboratories ever determine that an item is not genuine, we will refund you in full.
